End-of-Life for Autocount Accounting 1.X & POS 3.X

AutoCount Accounting 1.X and AutoCount Point of Sales (POS) 3.X will enter its End-of-Life phase on 31/03/2023. This means that after 31/03/2023, there will be no more bug fixes, mandatory enhancements such as SST requirements or software updates for Accounting 1.X and POS 3.X.

As AutoCount Accounting 1.X and POS 3.X series have been in the market since 2006 and the technology applied is no longer sufficient to support future development. Users are encouraged to upgrade into a newer generation system – Accounting 2.0 & POS 5.0, as the functions and features are built based on latest technology for better user experience with additional features which could benefits you.

  • What is AutoCount Accounting 1.X and AutoCount Point of Sales (POS) 3.X End-of-Life?

To be simple, this means that there will be no more bug fixes or enhancement on the mentioned system after End-of-Life – 31/03/2023.

  • Why updates are important to me?

Updates are important to keep the system updated and compatible with the latest environment or requirements. Without updates, you might encounter inconveniency when using the system.

For example, if Microsoft had a new Operating System – Windows 11, 12 or 13 after 31/03/2023 and Accounting 1.X or POS 3.X had issue running on that platform, we will not be supporting to make the system compatible with it as there will be no more developments on the mentioned system. In this case, you can only use Accounting 1.X or POS 3.X with current support windows.

Another example, if custom change any SST requirements after 31/03/2023, since there is no more development and updates by that time, you will have to find workaround way to handle these new requirements from the custom.

  • Can I continue to use Accounting 1.X or POS 3.X after End-of-Life?

Yes, you can continue to use Accounting 1.X or POS 3.X even after 31/03/2023. It just will not have any updates after the specified End-of-Life date – 31/03/2023. This also means that if you do not have any new requirements, you can use Accounting 1.X or POS 3.X as  it  since there is no changes required from you. Support are still providing for those that are still using Accounting 1.X and POS 3.X.

  • What are my options after Accounting 1.X and POS 3.X End-of-Life?

There are 2 options available:

  1. Upgrade to Accounting 2.0 or POS 5.0 AutoCount had a new generation of Accounting and POS system which offer more functions and features built based on latest technology.
  2. Migrate to Cloud Accounting. AutoCount also had another Accounting system which is Cloud base. This option is recommended for accountants.

  • What if I had customization? Can I still upgrade my AutoCount 1.X to 2.0?

Yes, you can still upgrade your AutoCount 1.X to 2.0. However, you will also need to contact your customization developer to convert your customization from 1.X to 2.0 if the customization is being developed by 3rd party. It is recommended to upgrade after your customization is ready for smoother transition.

  • If I wish to upgrade to AutoCount 2.0, must it be done immediately?

No, you do not have to do it immediately. However, we recommend you upgrade earlier or before End-of-Life phase, which is  31/03/2023 as you might also want to get use to some of the new stuffs.

  • I wish to upgrade but I do not know who should I contact as my previous sales representative no longer servicing AutoCount Software
